About

“What a joy it is to feel the soft, springy earth under feet once more,
to follow grassy roads that lead to ferny brooks,
Where I can bathe my fingers in a cataract of rippling notes
or to clamber over a stone wall into green fields that
tumble and roll and climb in riotous gladness.”
Helen Keller

I have lived in South Africa, England and Israel, and have been deeply inspired by their natural landscapes.

I love the dry, stark yellow winter plains near Johannesburg with their sprouting pink and white wild cosmos flowers, and the abundant freshness of the vivid tropical flowers that bloom after  summer thunderstorms. The sea at Cape Town sparkles against the backdrop of mountains and its English colonial city. I love the rolling green hills of the English countryside and the tranquil canals. The lush green Galilee contrasts with the muted colors and stillness of the desert landscapes, the Jerusalem stone buildings, and the archeological excavations.

As a painter I look for the grace of creation in the natural world – shapes and light and shade – shadows and reflections on water inspire me and are a strong theme in my work.

I studied with Kulwant Aurora in London and Isana Meirovich Yacov in Israel, and have had several group exhibitions in Israel.
